Our piglets are in our opinion the perfect homestead pig. The sows are Red Wattle/Tamworth (both heritage breeds known to be hardy and great foragers and perfect for forest pasture systems like what we are doing) and the boar is a top quality breeding boar Duroc from Shipley Swine Genetics. Should be really nice marbeling as the Durocs are famous for superior meat quality (tender and juicy). The red wattles are known for great temperament, docile and sweet. You can raise your pigs by rotating them in the woods, perfect if you have areas you want to be cleaned up as the pigs will till the land for you. After we move our pigs, we toss some grass seeds mixed with other seeds depending on the season, like squash, melon, beets, carrots etc. We also love that we can give our pigs any left overs and extra veggies from the garden, extra eggs etc. We believe every homestead should have a couple of pigs.
 
All males will be castrated before they are sold.  If you do not want your male castrated, please let us know.
